2025 English Open Semi-Finals: Selby Faces Zhou, Allen Takes on Jones

The semi-finals of the 2025 English Open have been confirmed after a thrilling quarter-final day filled with dramatic deciding-frame finishes at the Brentwood Centre.

Two-time champion Mark Selby narrowly overcame Jackson Page 5-4 and will now take on China’s Zhou Yuelong, who also edged past Luca Brecel in a tense final frame. The other semi-final will see Mark Allen, who staged a stunning comeback from 4–0 down to defeat Elliot Slessor, face Jak Jones—a 5–2 winner against Aaron Hill.

Both matches take place on Saturday, September 20th. Selby and Zhou begin at 1 PM BST, while Allen and Jones play at 7 PM BST.

Zhou Yuelong holds a positive head-to-head record against Selby, having won four of their six previous encounters. Allen has dominated Jones in their past meetings, winning six out of seven matches.

A place in the final—and a chance to claim the Steve Davis Trophy and £100,000 top prize—awaits the winners.
