Xiao, the defending champion and top seed, staged a strong comeback to defeat Mark Williams 6–3. After trailing 3–2, he won four consecutive frames to secure his place in the final. Wilson also overcame an early deficit against Mark Allen, rallying from 2–1 down to win 6–2 with high-scoring breaks including 113, 78, and 70.

This final presents an opportunity for both players to add to their professional achievements. Wilson is aiming for his fourth ranking title and his first outside the Home Nations series. Xiao, who captured his first ranking title at this event last year after 17 years as a pro, could join an elite group of players to win their first two ranking titles at the same tournament.

Historically, the two have met six times, with Xiao leading 4–2 in their head-to-head record. However, they have never faced off in a match longer than seven frames—making the best-of-19 final a new challenge for both.

The winner will receive £140,000 and significant ranking rewards. A victory would propel Xiao into the world’s top eight for the first time, while Wilson is already guaranteed a return to the top 16 and could rise to 13th with the title.

The final will be played over two sessions on Saturday at 7:00 AM and 12:30 PM BST.
